Our pan head tapping screws work well for a wide range of applications, and the black pan head self tapping screws are no exception. Their pan head design boasts a large bearing surface, so they won’t easily damage thin sheets or soft materials when tightened. The smooth, rounded head looks clean and sleek, making them perfect for exposed installations where appearance counts.

The drive slot is perfectly centered, so tools line up easily and thread stripping is rarely an issue—this is especially true for Phillips and Torx drives. Plus, the sharp pointed tip allows for precise positioning and smooth penetration, fitting seamlessly with thin metal sheets, plastics, wood, fiberboard, and more.
Materials
- Carbon Steel
- Grade: C1018, SWRCH18A, 1022A (case hardened)
- Mechanical Properties: Case hardened surface (Surface hardness: 450 HV - 550 HV), core hardness HV 300-400, meeting ISO 2702 standard for tapping screws.
- Application: General indoor use, sheet metal fabrication, furniture, electronics; cost-effective.
- Stainless Steel
- SUS304 (A2): A2-70; general corrosion resistance, indoor & outdoor use, humid environments.
- SUS316 (A4): A4-80; high corrosion resistance, marine, chemical, high salt-spray environments.
- SUS410: Magnetic, high hardness. Designed for tapping into stainless steel sheets; reduces risk of thread stripping on the screw itself. Note: lubrication recommended to prevent galling.
- Other Materials
- Aluminum Alloy: Lightweight, used in electronics, electrical appliances, heat-dissipating components.
- Brass / Copper: Conductive, corrosion-resistant, decorative, for electrical connections.
